This is the mountain where Chuichi Minamisawa, who lived in this area, continued planting hydrangeas along the path to his parents' graves, with the goal of "filling it with hydrangeas." Wanting to see everyone's happy faces, he continued planting hydrangeas for 50 years, and now the number of hydrangeas blooming on the mountain exceeds 15,000.
There are over 50 varieties of hydrangeas, including rare varieties that are hard to find even in Japan. Surrounded by tall trees, for about a month from June, the vibrant blue, purple, and white hydrangeas bloom in profusion, creating a fantastical atmosphere.

Please come to the mountain on foot, by taxi, or by the limited-time paid shuttle bus from JR Musashi-Itsukaichi Station.
There is no parking available, so if you come by car, please use the coin parking lots around "Musashi-Itsukaichi Station".

Located within Wonderful Nature Village, adjacent to Tokyo Summerland, this hydrangea garden offers a spectacular display of approximately 60 varieties and 15,000 hydrangea plants across a 30,000 square meter area. This includes the "Annabelle Snow Mountain," a cluster of pure white Annabelle hydrangeas.
The heart of the hydrangea area stretches along a hiking trail leading up the mountain, offering breathtaking views of the Akigawa Valley from the summit. Please wear comfortable shoes as the trail is steep and winding.

Paid parking is available for those arriving by car.
If arriving by train, take a taxi or local bus from JR Akigawa Station to Tokyo Summerland, and then use the free shuttle bus from Tokyo Summerland to Wonderful Nature Village.
A special day in the early summer Akigawa Valley, where you'll tour two hydrangea mountains guided by local staff.

Furthermore, you can experience a workshop exclusive to this tour: "Hydrangea Flower Temari Making," allowing you to feel the charm of hydrangeas even more deeply.
Enjoy a relaxing and fulfilling time with a rural lunch featuring local ingredients and a hot spring bath.

This "beauty-enhancing hot spring" is characterized by its fragrant water and smooth, slippery texture. Surrounded by deep mountains, you can enjoy the changing scenery of the valley throughout the seasons: fresh greenery in spring, deep green in summer, vibrant autumn leaves, and snow-viewing baths in winter.
There is also a direct sales store on the premises selling locally grown vegetables harvested that morning, making it a great spot to discover the charm of the Akigawa Valley.

At the two hydrangea spots, we are distributing pamphlets with coupons for recommended gourmet spots and souvenir shops in the Akigawa Valley. After enjoying the hydrangeas, please be sure to explore the charms of the Akigawa Valley!
