Feeling a bit tired of the crowds in central Tokyo? Here’s your perfect chance to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a peaceful cultural experience at Showa Kinen Park, one of Japan’s national government parks. Join us for an unforgettable journey through Japanese tradition and nature! A hands-on workshop of Wagashi “Nerikiri” and Matcha at a beautiful, traditional tearoom overlooking a Japanese garden. After the workshop, head to the Bonsai Garden, where you can see top-class bonsai that have lived for decades—even hundreds of years.
Itinerary
- 9:15 am — Meet-up & Check-in
Meet your guide at the Tachikawa Gate Shop, located right next to the park's Tachikawa Gate entrance.
9:40–10:10 — The group will take a short ride on the park train to the Japanese Garden.
10:15–11:30 — Japanese Nerikiri sweets workshop and matcha experience, held in a traditional tea house
11:40–12:15 — Bonsai Garden
After the Bonsai Garden visit, you are welcome to continue exploring Showa Kinen Park at your own pace.

Price
15,000 yen (Includes park entrance & park train fee, workshop experience, and insurance)
Holding conditions
Minimum number of participants: 2 What to bring ・Comfortable clothing and shoes ・A water bottle ・Please wear or bring cotton socks. (Bare feet or stockings are not allowed in the tea room.)
Cancellation policy
Cancellations made by 5:00 PM, 8 days prior to the tour date are free of charge. After that, a 100% cancellation fee will apply. In case of inclement weather, the tour will be canceled and you’ll be offered either a rescheduled date or a full refund. Note: The tour will proceed in light rain.
Notes
・Eating and drinking are not allowed on the park train or inside the Japanese garden. We kindly ask that you hydrate before boarding the train and before entering the garden. ・To help everyone stay focused during the Nerikiri workshop, we kindly ask that you refrain from taking photos while working. Our staff will be happy to take photos for you using your camera.

Access
Exit JR Tachikawa Station via the North Exit, toward Showa Kinen Park. Walk straight for about 10–15 minutes towards the park gate (approximately 0.3 miles / 550 meters), following signs for “昭和記念公園 立川口” (Tachikawa Gate).
