About
About 160 years ago, the Shinsengumi—the “strongest group of swordsmen” —swept through the final days of the Edo period. Emerging at the end of the samurai era, they were truly the “Last Samurai.” While they now enjoy immense popularity in countless novels, movies, and anime, they were once “Hidden Samurai” buried in the shadows of history. How did the Shinsengumi come into being? Why did they remain the strongest? And why were they nearly erased from history? We walk through the historic sites of Hino, the “hometown of the Shinsengumi,” try our hand at swordsmanship, and unravel the mysteries of their turbulent history.

Cancellation policy
Cancellations made by 1:00 PM, one day prior to the tour date, are free of charge. After that, a 100% cancellation fee will apply. This tour will run in rain. Only extreme weather may cause cancellation, with a rescheduled date or full refund offered.
Notes
Participants should be in good health and able to engage in light physical activities, including walking and a swordsmanship experience. Please note that the walking route includes descending a long flight of 100 stairs.

Meet right outside the ticket gate at Takahatafudo Station on the Keio Line—not at the Tama Monorail station.
Parking
There is a paid parking lot near the meeting point, but since the dispersal point is different, we recommend taking the train.
