Celebrated in countless novels, movies, and anime, these iconic figures were truly the “Last Samurai.” But behind the legend lies a fascinating secret: many of these deadly warriors were actually ordinary farmers. How did farmers become samurai? Who did they fight, and what was their ultimate fate? Step back in time with us in Hino, Tokyo—the legendary hometown of the Shinsengumi. On this exclusive tour, you will walk through authentic historic sites to unravel their turbulent past, and learn traditional swordsmanship firsthand under the guidance of a direct descendant of a Shinsengumi warrior. Cancellation policy
Cancellations made by 1:00 PM, one day prior to the tour date, are free of charge. Cancellations made after 1:00 PM, one day prior to the tour date: 40% of the tour price. Cancellations made on the tour date before the tour starts: 50%. Cancellations made after the tour starts or no-shows: 100%. This tour will run in rain. Only extreme weather may cause cancellation, with a rescheduled date or full refund offered.
Notes
Participants should be in good health and able to engage in light physical activities, including walking and a swordsmanship experience. Please note that the walking route includes descending a long flight of 100 stairs.

Meet right outside the ticket gate at Takahatafudo Station on the Keio Line—not at the Tama Monorail station.
Parking
There is a paid parking lot near the meeting point, but since the dispersal point is different, we recommend taking the train.
